Bang on about the Brel original. This is ripping too. A superior Scottish version of the Kinks. This is a compliment :-)-GSG-"The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry." -Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms, 1929

I LOVE YOU ALEX HARVEY. Your performance of this is my all time favourite. It's stayed in my mind since I saw you do it when i was little on Whistle Test.

I'd agree with that, it's the best! S. Walkers' version is great, by the way (on Scott 2). Enjoy!

We in the states are the worse for this band not being a major success in our country.

Bravo! Pigjamelectric!! In the states SAHB was vittually. Unknown, but to cite the great Jauques Brel as the writer/originator of the piece gets you an "A" ir rock history 301. It's been a long time since H.S. French but the message still comes through loud and clear...many thanks for the tip. |
