Jesus Camp 8 of 9

The eighth part of the movie Jesus Camp.Jesus Camp follows several young children as they prepare to attend a summer camp where the kids will get their daily dose of evangelical Christianity. Becky Fischer works at the camp, which is named Kids on Fire. Through interviews with Fischer, the children, and others, Jesus Camp illustrates the unswerving belief of the faithful. A housewife and homeschooling mother tells her son that creationism has all the answers. Footage from inside the camp shows young children weeping and wailing as they promise to stop their sinning. Child after child is driven to tears. Juxtapose these scenes with clips from a more moderate Christian radio host (who is appalled by such tactics), and Jesus Camp seems to pose a clear question: are these children being brainwashed?

How can she say it's not political when they brought in the cardboard cutout of Bush and told the kids to pray for his success in making abortion illegal?At least I think it was a cardboard cutout!

I think it's supposed to signify the silencing of a life. It's kind of similar to what gay rallies do, when they tape their mouths shut to symbolize how gays are trying to be silenced by others.

I feel really bad for these kids- they never had a choice. I grew up in a town where religion was a big thing and I recognize a lot of the manipulation tactics

no, you're trained to go out and train others, so they can train other people, and when they're trained they can train others...(so that they can train as much people as possible)
