Sorry - my response got away from me. Yes, they breed them for dressage. Think of it like gymnastics or ballet for horses. Not all horses can do this level, like Matine, but all can benefit from the training. Even Western riders are using many of the techniques. It is good for the horse as long as rollkur or some other nasty technique is used.

This is a freestyle so the rider makes the decision.

this is so much better than Ankys performance. hers didnt have that wow factor. it was just..bluh. it was a good test, but it was more..subdued than Matines

So do they breed these horses just for dressage?And does the trainer train a choreography, or does he train it a trick and let's the rider decide in which order and style to do the tricks?

Think what u wanna think. Thats why such "modern" trainingmethods are more n more popular. Big Show, but not a dressagecompetition in the classical meaning.Anyway, I bet, Andreas and Matinee will not compete again, cuz he left Blue Hors Stud to run his own business.

You are so lucky to have seen this pair in person. I was very disappointed that they will not be in Las Vegas this year. As for the others who are complaining:: who knows what the problem is? As I said in another posting, as long as the mare is happy, who cares about anything else?

I just don't get, why so many people in here says that Matine is "wrong ridden". That's her way, I've seen and met her many times, and she is a happy happy horse. Andreas Helgstrand is a amazing trainer, why don't you check out Blue Hors website? That's where Andreas work. Try and have a look at the horeses, do thy look sad or worn out? I don't think so. Unless you have met Andreas and watched him and his horses many times you really can't say those things about him.- Kathrine, Denmark
