Actually, I take back my comment in response to breeeegs (from a year ago no less!) I see what he meant I think. The symbolisim and meaning of the Mikveh and Baptisim are worlds apart in their spiritual signifigance and effect (depending on the sect). Still I personally sense some "historcal connection" of some sort since early Christianity is derived from Judaism. Shaloam.

No comparison? Uh, where did Christianity get it's roots? And which version of "baptism" of the many sects of Christendom shall we turn to for understanding it's efficecy? Historically comparison is inevitable IMHO.

A mikvah is a bath house. It is used for spiritual purification. The final step in conversion to Judaism is immersion in a mikvah. After using one you are like a new person starting life again.
