While Julie andrews certainly had the voice (Marnie Nixon was not chopped liver) She would have never had the screen presence of Audrey Hepburn. I'm a hgue Julie andrews fan. But, they made the correct choice.

i Personally think Julie was better for t'role of Eliza, much as i adore audrey too. They were both legends but good at different things...Like Audrey was better for the role of Holly Golightly for example! I Love Julie & im soooo happy we have this footage =D
