No. You need to wear a wool sweater and boots with the fur when you install your computer parts. Now if you believed that then you fail horribly.

PEOPLE, LISTEN UP! When buying a processor, make sure which type your buying.1.OEM2.RetailNote that the OEM version of a CPU DOES NOT come with a heatsink or cooling fan, YOU MUST BUY IT SEPERATLEY.

The only reason I would wear an ESD strap is if I was building someone else a PC. Just to be safe. I have never needed one, and probably never will, until I zap something, lol. I keep a bare body part in the case whenever I'm working on a PC. Especially in the winter. Cold weather and black people equal two things, ashy skin, and static electricity, lol.

Omg people. You dont need an antistatic wrist band. I've built dozens of computers for customers and I have never had a situation where static electricity damaged any of my parts. |
