I agree. I live in Michigan, USA, and "House" is hugely popular here, proving that many Americans do appreciate quality. But sadly, too many Americans just want mindless entertainment after a hard day's work, and too many dress in sloppy clothing and thereby feel "authentic." This is the America too many outsiders see, sadly. But no one outside the US should stereotype all Americans; there is much variety. Hugh, though, finds a good target here from his perspective, and was within his rights.

Totally agree, this man never fails to cheer me up when I'm depressed - an under rated comedy genius indeed :o)
