I wish I had "bad tempo" like Mr. Perroy!

how is it awful?

The tempo for the Allegro section at the end is awful.

Yes,This interpretation has bad moments, but that augers well for him.Already he is not afraid to risks and mold the tune to his view. This is better than listening to the typicalconservative interpretation which, while alwayspleasing...never moves one.Furthermore his rubato is absolutely in keeping with the way Mertzand his contemporaries played music.Doubt it?Listen to the 78s recorded by those born in the1820's and 1830s.They make his interpretationseem conservative.

This is one of the worst interpretations I have ever seen. I thought this guy one the GFA. I have his video and it's better than this.

I think the 5 1/2 hours of tuning at the beginning really adds something. But seriously, it's good to hear the piece -- people don't play enough of Mertz. I'm doing the Tarantelle to close my senior recital in two months... maybe I'll throw the video on here if I don't screw it up.As far as the playing goes, JESUS CHRIST!
