So what would be the point of all the water shifting to one side which was exposed earth,,just exposing earth on the side it shifted from? It makes no sense whatsoever. So if the earth gets too heavy on one side are we going to roll out of orbit and bounce off into the universe? This theory seems like something a child would come up with because they don't know any better. Where is the science literature to back this up,,,seriously,,I would like to see it.

Reflected Thanks. Enjoy the other 5 videos. You also might like to see and read more at nealadamsdotcom

I studied geology back in college, and I had the same intuition. I never swallowed the pangea theory. Growth seems so fundamental to organic life. Let my planet grow! 5 stars!

It would not matter what side is more heavy then the other. Earths gravity is in the middle, not on one side so the water would not tilt. Look at the Earth now, if this theory was right both sides of Earth would haft to be evened out and its not. Europe, Asia, India, and Africa outweigh North and South America. Earth is at a 23 something tilt, if you where right then it would constantly shift with the continents 24 hours a day. But it does not, it stays almost still while the earth rotates.

Stubbzuki- There are spreading ridges on all available planets and moons, and I have animated many of them. Please go to nealadamsdotcom in the science section. There's one video on the Moon and 2 covering Mars. You can find those 3 same videos right here on the tube, but there are many more on the site. Spreading ridges of growing bodies are the most common geological feature on all bodies. That would stand to reason, wouldn't it, if indeed they are all growing.

I have another question - Why does the Earth have spreading ridge areas, while other growing planetary bodies don't? Have you ever seen any others? They are so clear on Earth. Where does the upwell of expansion come from on, say, the Moon? I don't see any spot where it looks like "seafloor" came out.

Oceanic crust is denser than continental crust. It essentially weighs more, in fact, even if it weighed the same, this still doesn't make sense. Why did Mr. Adams (I'm assuming he's not related to Douglas Adams) ignore the fact that the water would have to rest on top of something as the mantle would have evaporated it.

This narrator sounds like movie actor James Woods

Meanwhile, back in Montreal down on Higgis Street, Wally Armbruster discovers in the basement of his workplace evidence that HIggis street was once paved entirely of bricks. Realizing his great grandfather was a bricklayer in old Montreal, Wally muses away the afternoon, picturing in his mind the blissful days of boon work-a-day companionship of the late 19th century street builders. Strong doughty men who had no thoughts of shiftless continents. Bricks, and a sandwich for lunch. A life.

Gents. To get the full impact of the videos, there's a dozen of them on nealadamsdotcom. If you want more of the theory, while you're there you can also drop a double sawbuck and get the full presentation. The dozen videos will rock your clock. |
