I think this is one of the most famous and awesome race in U.S. In this race, Secretariat, an outstanding big chestnut horse, wins by 31 length(!!!), making the world 12F record, achieving triple crown.

how can you not call this animal an athlete??!! could you do what he did?! they train just like humans do!! and they dont "just run because its what they do", if a horse doesnt want to run then theres no way in hell you can make it run. they have to have heart and will to win, god do your research

We do a lot more than just run. Horses run because its what they do, hence why they're shot immediately after they suffer a major leg injury. And no, I'm not American or a "fast ass", I'm actually pretty slow.

humans kind of just run...it's what we just do.you know...unless you are an embarrassing fast ass who disgraces our whole species (as many Americans do, me being an American but NOT a fatasss)

Not sure how Secretariat had trouble with the big field. He ran every 1/4 mile faster than the previous. He set the track record at 1:59 2/5 which still stands as the Derby record. This was over 2 seconds faster than Big Brown's Derby time.

I find it funny when people call horses athlete's. The thing is running... Its what they do, this one is just very good at it.
