This movie and the play it is based on, and all the other productions of this work, are vile slander against Bryan. Bryan was cool, and Darrow was a slimy communist.

The movie cannot be "historically inaccurate" since it is not a documentary. It is a work of fiction inspired by a real life event. Yes, Henry Drummond, Mathew Harrison Brady, Bertram T Cates and E K Hornbeck in the movie were clearly patterned after Clarence Darrow, William Jennings Bryan, John T Scopes and H L Mencken in real life. No one connected to the movie ever promoted this as a history of the Scopes Trial. It is a dramatic performance, and in Spencer Tracy's case, a great one.

"Inherit the Wind is not history... ...The collision of Bryan and Darrow at Dayton was dramatic, but it was not a drama. Moreover, the issues of their conflict have acquired new dimension and meaning in the thirty years since they clashed at the Rhea County Courthouse. So Inherit the Wind does not pretend to be journalism. It is theatre. It is not 1925..." (Lawrence and Lee 1955)

"Inherit The Wind" is The MOST Vile, Slanted, Prejudiced, Bigoted, Bogus & INACCURATE Movie EVER MADE on The Scopes Trial !At Bob Jones University; we would Do Stage Productions of THE SCOPES TRIAL; Solely Based On The HISTORIC WRITTEN TRANSCRIPTS OF THE TRIAL of 1925.The Sad & Pathetic TRUTH is Generations of Public Schools in The USA have been Propagating & Believing TWISTED LIES about DARROW, SCOPES & BRYAN !It's like Spreading & Holding The KKK's & Neo-Nazi's Version of Barack obama ! |
