the 4870x2 actually isnt double the 28o. the x2 is better but only like 22%. ATI rules!!! the gtx 280 is also much more expensive.

4870x2 is not "dual Core" its just two 4870 GPU's on one board. Exactly the same as if you went out and bought 2 4870 and put them in crossfire.

1. The ATi HD 4870 is on par with the GTX280.2. The ATi HD 4870X2 is the GPU that is dual-core.3. The ATi HD 4870X2 is double the preformance of the GTX280.4. Two GTX280's in SLI cost more then an HD 4870X2.5. A single GTX280 cost's $100 more then a single HD 4870. 6. If you're going to be all Anti-ATI then you're better off getting a GTX260 Core 216. It is also on par with a GTX280 and $100 cheaper.

1. it barely beats the 48702. the 4870 is a dual core-gpu3.the gtx 280 has a better price-performance ratio

Hahaha, I'd love to see here you got your benchmarks from. 4870 X2 and the 4850 X2 are both faster with filters and high resolutions. 40FPS? Ummm, the 3870 isn't ATI's top of the line card you know.
