20 years from now Blink will be remembered as puppets of the music industry, just as christina or britney or whatever are legends of unoriginal commercial pop.To even utter the name of Ramones in the same sentence as boybands like mxpx and especiellay blink, is an insult to the entire genre of punk rock. Those guys are media machines, they're income-generators for their label. There's no rebellion there, there's no attitude, only blatant and filthy commercialism.

20 years from now Blink will be remembered as "legends" of pop punk music, just as the ramones or sex pistols or whatever are legends of original punk rock. there are tons of bands out there even today that are heavily influenced by bands like Blink or MxPx, because they did something unique for music too- in pop punk. just because you don't like that genre doesn't mean it ceases to exist.

Did I ever say anything about MxPx? Nah, I don't know them well enough for that... I was pointing out that Sum or Blink are pretty farkin far from being "legends of punk rock". "Legends" is to me Ramones, Bad Religion, Sex Pistols, bands that actually contributed to the definition of the style of music we call Punk Rock. And before you resume flaming, Bad Religion is the only of the three i mention I actually listen to. I am saying these bands are genre defining bands, legends. NOT sum or blink.

Actually blink 182 was started in 1992, about a year earlier than MxPx. Also, it was 4 years before they got a major label deal, and 7 years before they had a huge song. They also played the Warped Tour a lot, which MxPx also played in the mid 90's, about the same time as blink 182. I like MxPx alot, probably more than blink 182, but I don't like it when people run off half assed comments just because they don't like a band. Music is about opinion dude.

looooooooldirck41, you are so far off its almost funny.. Blink 182 is nothing more than backstreet boys with guitars, they're posers and fakes, created by the record industry to take your money away from you. Exactly the same goes for Sum 41.
