When Cobb was a brand new player on the Tigers roster, he was harrassed by several teammates, including Sam Crawford, who was the ringleader. This is what made Cobb become a loner, by necessity, and physically fight those who harrassed him. It was an especially trying time since his father was shot dead by his mother, and his mother was nearly broke and in danger of losing their home. Cobb had no choice but to stay and send money home.

He did? Like when? Oh, you mean him intentionally spiking people? Complete fiction. Do some research, bud. It is well noted that Cobb slid with his spikes up to try and not the ball out of the fielders glove, not hurt them. Long after his playing days ended people started to say he intentionally spiked people, just as the racist allegations circulated at that team. Even Branch Rickey said he never intentionally spiked players.

Sure he was kinda nuts.....but probably one of the top 5 ever to play the game. I wouldnt f(*k with him off the field either lol..... Read "COBB"...great book.
