That myth is untrue. Check google for "Gau-8 Avenger - The recoil vs. forward thrust myth" and it's been calculated that an A-10 can't be stalled from sustained firing of it's cannon. It is enough to slow the Thunderbolt down a bit at high speed, but that's it. It's never happened. No stall, no crashing. Now maybe if they could mount four of those Gau-8s.....hehe. Look out!

I heard that if that weapon were to be fired constantly for several seconds (ignoring ammunition amount) it would cause the Thunderbolt to slow down enought to stall.
