They're intended purpose is, as a shop window, to demonstrate the capabilities of the company who made them. They're also an experiment in "intelligent" interaction between robots, as they're programmed to recognise and interact with one another. They recognise when they are low on power and seek out the in-pool charger. The thinking is that the technology may lead to advances in "Team Robots" working together on production lines etc.
