yes it is hard to tell if anything really is realtime, even partially at the end of the video, as there isn't much in the background or foreground for us to compare its speed with.but, just by the end of the video, one could assume it isn't sped up

Realtime is a common term. And since I've never seen this before and there is nothing familiar for speed reference, I think my question was a reasonable one. Thanks for the understanding, though.

You are right, I was rude for nothing. I was reading comments and when I saw your question I thought "wtf? this is a video! how the heck could this be realtime!?" and posted right away. There seems I misunderstood your question (most likely cause your wording was not the best). This is ferrofluid, think of it as a liquid that beheaves like ferrum "sand". This video does not seems like it's sped up, but could not tell with the given data :-)
