This looks like the closest thing yet to a real-life holodeck! The Virtusphere is (as the name suggests) a large hollow sphere which sits on a set of computer monitored wheels. This allows the sphere to rotate a complete 360ยบ whilst still allowing the computer to track the movments. For more information please visit http://www.hack247.co.uk

Its cool....But that's way to much work for a video game.Hell even the wii can get tiring. So until virtual reality isn't a hamster "sphere", I will stick with pressing buttons and swinging stuff around. =P

when the pc, game console, internet, and virtual reality come together it is truly gonna be amazing. virtual characters with real pictures and profile information, virtual worlds with virtual economies and virtual jobs. virtual libraries with books to download, virtual theaters...imagine me working at a virtual music store? how may i help you find an MP3 today?!? :)

That is very interesting. One question, how can it be more cost effective and allow you to feel objects too? Really curious here. |
