I really like Nietzsche's comment about talking, finding words for something means it's dead inside you, that the things we remain speechless for are full of life.

I admire Bloom though I certainly don't agree with all his opinions...Even if Shakespeare does hold women in generally higher esteem than men I still don't think it means the best of women are generally better than the best men. The female half of the species is as flawed in their way as we males. Even Shakespeare's work provides ample evidenc of deeply flawed women, for example King Henry VI's mother or Lady Macbeth. An interesting argument, though.

I heartily concur with the great Bloom except for his verdict on contemporary Britian. Britian has great writers still - Pinter, Ayckbourn, Mike Leigh for example in film as well
