The orginal Gozilla was slammed with a bunch of missles by Mechagodzilla in one of the films. A few were neck hits as well. He bounched back and still won the day (albit with help, but still).Thing is, it does not matter if Zilla was hit by missles, the orginal Godzilla would still never be so weak.I hate to say it, but Zilla was a wimp. And I really don't like saying that, because I enjoyed the movie up to that point. That scene just made me go WTF! Missles?

I think its cause the missiles got him directly into his neck, causing him to bleed to death and since he he could not get back to the water and recover, he died off from his wounds.
