karl doesn't feel he has to listen to him, karl, as you should, or should learn, has a very open mind to everything that comes at him. he may not remember everything he is told, but who does? He strives for knowledge and is always thinking and you can tell this from this show, the podcasts, the xfm shows, everything he has been on. he is always asking questions even though they may sound stupid. David may be off his rocker, but that doesnt mean he isnt right with what he is tellling karl
