A spokesman for the Atrial Fibrillation Association said: "In this day and age when people are living longer, it is wrong that they should have the door to their future shut in their face." However late yesterday, following media interest in Mrs Simpson's plight, the PCT backed down and agreed to fund her treatment.

phoenix-HAM:I have your diagnosis. You suffer from Grandiose Delusional Disorder. The good news is that you can manage your affliction with proper amounts of anti-psychotics. With sustained treatment there's still hope for you to lead a normal life. The first step, as always, is for you to face up to your disease and seek help.

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others". A proclamation by the pigs who control the government. The sentence is a comment on the hypocrisy of governments that proclaim the absolute equality of their citizens but give power and privileges to a small elite. This is why you want as little government control of your life (even ours) as possible. the governments job is to protect us from over seas powers. local govenment is where we can deal with demi-gods in office

Angry GPs reluctantly accept plan for weekend and evening surgeries- John Carvel, March 7, 2008 [Guardian Unlimited] But 98% said the government's negotiating tactics were unacceptable. Dr Laurence Buckman, chairman of the association's GPs' committee, said doctors had been "bullied and railroaded" into accepting the terms after ministers threatened to impose an even worse deal, with big financial penalties on practices refusing to offer extended hours.
