WRONG!!! NO M3!!! Test is between BMW 335i Coupe (straight 6 Bi Turbo) and the Ford Mustang!!!

Both of the BMW's were down at least than 170 horsepower to the Mustang, it had better be faster. Also, the GT500 was close to the Turbo (but not quite as fast) until the temp warmed up and the Shelby fell on its face to the tune of four seconds per lap. Even still the 415h.p. GT3 crushed the 500h.p. Shelby by over four seconds BEFORE the GT500 fell on its face. The Shelby simply is not as good on a track, period. Like I said, it's a cool car, but it was never meant run with GT3's.

Well keep believing that. Your same damn magazine last year tested the GT500 against the Turbo in the lightning lap. It matched the time of the Porsche and pounded anyhting BMW brought to the party, over 10 hot laps with 5 different drivers.

It is a solid axle with a three link setup, the only advantage it has over a truck is better wheel placement, but it still has all the unsprung weight. As for lap times, C&D recorded a STANDARD C6 Corvette crushing the GT500 to the tune of 3 seconds per lap, despite a 100 h.p. deficit. The 997 Turbo is dead even (if not slightly faster) than a Z06 on a track according to Motortrend. Needless to say, the Turbo would leave the GT500 for dead, oh and the GT3 is even faster.

Sorry, but you lost all cred when you said its a truck axle. So you can bring out the "less unsprung" old legend all you want. This is a state of the art SRA and yes a GT500 is competitive with not a GT3, but a 997 Turbo on a road course. This has been shown over and over.

You STILL don't get the concept... You are either joking or really really stupid. IRS=less unsprung mass than a live axle, period. Less unsprung mass=better ride and handling. Any questions??? You can't argue that a live axle is even comparable in terms of performance to an IRS setup. I like the GT500, seriously, but not because its going to compare to a GT3 on the road course.
