hell, I think one of his legs is bigger than a tree trunk. By the way, since the other comments were made half a year ago, I'll ask you this question: What's your take on Bugei? I'm thinking of purchasing either the Bainite Hanwei, or a folded Bugei sword since I doubt I'd get my hands on a Howard Clark any time soon. Are they known for quality?

I am searching about the l6 hanwei katana like praying mantis or oni..i dont seem to find any preview or cutting video etc..i know ofc they cant be Howard Clark L6 performance..But who can afford 5k+usd for a sword but 1300usd for a good l6 sword is acceptable thow i dont know how much hanwei smiths have mastered the art of l6 smithing becouse its a delicant one with all the heating so any insider about the hanwei l6 swords?

Is that comment directed towards me?

cheness 9260 ? your kidding me right ?
first up HC forges the blade , its then polished by Keith larman , mounted by Jesse peayo or Ted Tenold then tested by James Williams or Big tony - and you compare a cheness to an L6 - ive owned a 9260 shura - total piece of fecal matter , not worthy of the name katana .

Ive looked into the Oni Katana... im seriously considering it, although if what you say about the quality control is true i'l be carefull..
Hanwei swords are generally very good and definatly the best alot of us may ever own..
ty :)

Depends on the smith. I have seen an L6 sword flex 160 degrees before breaking.
L6 is more forgiving than some people think, and it produces a hamon similar to that of tamahagane.

yeah I know, but the person I was responding to wanted to know where he/she could a Bainite Katana and I know that only select few fortunate people are able to get their hands on Howard Clark's swords, for many of us a Hanwei Bainite Kantana is the best we are going to get.

CAreful with Hanwei. Their quality control isn't the greatest. I bought an orchid kat a ways back. Folded and 1200 dollars, a third of the blade was as dull an iaido sword. |
