The poem is Pinter's "Laughter". Here it is: Laughter dies out but is never dead/ Laughter lies out the back of its head/ Laughter laughs at what is never said/ It trills and squeals and swills in your head/ It trills and squeals in the heads of the dead/ And so all the lies remain laughingly spread/ Sucked in by the laughter of the severed head/ Sucked in by the mouths of the laughing dead.

What poem is that that CR reads at the end? Does anyone know, and where can I find it? Much thanks. RIP to one of the ever best. Thanks for being.

People do not realize that Harold Pinter was Jewish and heartily condemned Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine and Israel's current brutal treatment of Gaza. Pinter was one of 105 prominent Jews who signed a We're not celebrating Israel's Anniversary petition in April of 2008. The final paragraph of this petition reads as follows " We cannot celebrate the birthday of a state founded on terrorism, massacres and the dispossession of another people from their land.

It would seem that the most anti-American man that resided in Europe was not very well-informed. If he were, or if he had spent even a fraction of his playwright time researching events in Iraq, he would know that almost all people who die in Iraq do so to islamist terror. As he spoke, Sderot was getting bombed. No tears for them I guess? Pinter's premise here seems to be that who has bombs doesn't matter. It is those with the most bombs, or the biggest bombs that matters to him, no more.

Harold Pinter, gone from the face of the earth forever, the conscience of the world, what a figure, what a writer, what a speaker.

Pinter did a lot for a lot of people who suffered under our cold war policies. It shames me that under Bush we have returned to them.

I agree that Rose is a mediocre interviewer, but I love Pinter too much to hate this.

Charlie Rose is a fool. If you have a knowledge of him as an interviewer, you will notice that the man has no sense of deference. He is a professional question asker, but he has no sense of how to listen. It is highly frustrating to watch one of his interviews. I get the particular sense a lot of the times that Rose feels he should be the one being interviewed. I shall like to punch him in the face.

RIP Pinter. You remain the greatest modern playwright. Thanks for your brilliance.
