The Argentinean government has responded to the global financial crisis by nationalising $30bn in private pensions. Mario Blejer, a former governor of the Argentinian Central Bank, joins the show to discuss the claims made by many economists and opposition politicians that the move is part of a plan to fill a widening hole in government finances. Also, Dore Gold, a former Israeli ambassador to the UN, and Manuel Hassassian, a Palestinian ambassador to London, discuss the challenges facing the peace process in 2009.

Israel is so unreasonable. Why do they continue to build new settlements on land which does not belong to them? |
