This is the best Finale I have ever heard. The crescendi are effective, there is unlimited power and the last minute is just fantastic!

What a treasure. Ashkenazy always sounds beautiful, but his older recordings seem to have a bit more of an edge. Great f-ing video!

I AWARD THIS 5 DRESDENS...A pale imitation of a bad Richter version.The phrasing is unrev-alatory & mechanical to the point of despair in spite of some nice shading.After listening to Sofronitsky perform this today my only question is...does he have just a low opinion of this music and or...his audience too?
