one last thing i would say is Pete doesnt really need to be defended, his record speaks for itself and i am MORE than confident that if He and Roger played in their primes, Pete would win his fair share...the only thing stopping them would be diversity, Pete proved he could be a champ in a field filled with two styles of play, not one, with Roger it would just be speculation because his opposition are nothing but baseliners who occassionaly try to volley

also snappy, its easier to get to a clay court final if your a baseliner rather than serve volleyer, i mean look at the great serve volleyers who have made it and failed, i can think of edberg, and mcenroe, rafter and pete got to semifinals, its not like they couldnt play on it, they just ran out of steam, being that the serve volley style takes the most out of you and i know Pete playe like 4 straight 5 setters leading up to the semi against kafelnikov who he beat 11 out of 13 times
