Some shots of what happens when birds take a dislike to each other in flight. It's fascinating how in some of the shots the smaller bird (a falcon called a hobby) makes a half-roll onto its back then rights itself just before knocking the larger bird (a buzzard) out of the sky.

No i think you'll find its a hobby a falcon that looks like a peregrine falcon but smaller and red underbelly marking and the other bird is a buzzard

I'd be a gynecologist ;-)At 0:27 to 0:30 thats a Peregrine Falcon attacking! and the big bird being attacked looks like a Red Tailed Hawk. Most likely the Hawk is getting a bit to close to the Falcons nest.

I don't profess to be an expert on raptors, but I can guarantee you that neither of these birds are Peregrine Falcons. Peregrine Falcons have yellow feet and yellow rings around their eyes, which neither of these birds have.I'm a huge Peregrine fan because of the birds we have here in Rochester. They rule the skies with iron talons. :-) |
