I am glad i was born in this era to play r - type when it hit the arcades. My fav game of all time, I wish IREM would make some airfix kits of the R9 ships? Image how neat that would be.R type represents true perfection.

you need winrar don't ask me how cos i'm not a technical wizard with the computer but thats what you need anyway download mame then the r type rom and stick it in the rom folder then you don't have to unzip it and don't need winrar unless you need winrar to install mameo well good luck

even as a young lad of the age of 11, i enjoyed this game just as much as i enjoy cod4 or resistance as i do today, quality game, 5 star worthy

You obviously are still a very young person then. my guess about 20-ish. Anyone over the age of 33 will rate this game of state of the art for its time!! Classic arcade gaming. none of this sit at home and veg out style. lol peace

can some one please help me. ive been trying to download r-type for a while but the same thing always happens: the download window pops up, i click save, but my comp tells me it cant open the file and asks me what i want to use to open it. i dont know if there's a problem with my computer or if i need a new file opening system, if so what should i get?
