nessus wont run (i install it by .deb and it wont appear on the gnome menu, nor alt+f2, nor running the command nessus) and metasploit is still downloading

hi...im just starting to study hacking... so i dont know much about it...but can i ask u..?? i have nessus4 for XP but why when i open it nothings happen...when i clik start nessus server its just says nessus server is running..? and about nmap...i use nmap zenmap GUI.. is that different..?cause when i open it its different than urs....?? can u help me plz

Just in regards to formatting the output (which I've always been lazy with) - cut is not accepting my delimiter. I have cat filename.whatever | grep Host | cut -d " " . f2 - but it's not accepting the space as a delimiter. Any ideas?

Ignore that jackass, but you will do better in the future to google these things for yourself. Windows doesnt have cat or grep but you could use wingrep. FYI, cat(concatenate) is just a tool used to print lines from a text file. So its not truely needed because you can use notepad.

So you write your own exploits? What language do you use? What methods do you use to even _find_ these vulns? If your going to answer, answer in a matter of a 'Degreed Computer Science' _Professional Hacker_ would answer. And smashing on n00bz isnt really cool because if their trying to learn then that doesnt really make them noobs. What make you a n00b is when you speak on something and dont know wtf you're talking about and dont have the patients to research it yourself.
