ok first the planets were named after the gods. remember the planets hadnt been discovered yet... i want to say arostotle but i think im thinking of the rong philosafer... but ya during the greeks and romans time period there wasnt the technoledgy to discover the planets... i think at the end of the roman era was when they were. and its just a song. if you read it said afraditie which is the greek venus. so dont be so up in people face about stupid stuff like that. besides same god diffrent name

No. Aphrodite is the of love, her and Ares(of War) son is Eros. and Eros is not the god of love. He is the god of DESIRE. You can't carry true love on a poison tipped arrow. Check out the story of Eros and Psyche. It's part Snow White, Part Sleeping Beauty, and part Cinderella, only instead of a Fairy godmother, Psyche has a talking stone tower.Psyche means Soul, her deal was she was perfection and the only one Eros fell so strongly for he disobeyed his mother Aphrodite to marry her.

Let us say like this. Greek and Roman mythology are the same thing (atleast the gods), but the thing is that the Romans "stole" the the greek mythology and named the gods after the planets. exampel: Zeus = Jupiter, Poseidon = Neptune, Aphrodite = Venus Ares = Mars, and so on

True, they just made it more "child friendly"...C'mon, you can't portray Zeus as a sex beast who'd go hump anything he can find, ranging from goddess to animals... So they made it a gooood husband who cares for his child and wife ;)

Cupido is Roman mythology, Eros is greek mythology.Both aphrodite and Eros are the gods of love, lust and passion, but viewed in different "aspects", if you know what I mean? =)
