umm...dude, under your definition of "direct action", you're basically saying that no one should bother to protest or speak against something unless they have an extremely sizable mob of people and weaponry to back it up? enough apparently to "take on the state"? you make it sound a lot more like a dick-measuring contest and a lot less like exercising your right to protest.oh, and they were asked to play at this demo. And that's what they did. People responded as they chose to.

It's great to see ATR at a demo, but it really shows the limits of their cultural politics. They can scream at the cops, but the cops just go about their business, busting heads. Direct action is a tactic, not a principle. If they can't outnumber & outmobilize the state, then ATR have no business shouting 'fuck the police' from the safety of their truck while people get beaten up.

Good point, a lot of people thing Anarcho-Communism is an oxmoron. Ever since the USSR people have the authoritarian communist state really engrained in thier concience.
