Irem blessed not once but twice the Super Nintendo with it's impressive shooter series. And even if I have both R-Type Delta on PS1 and R-Type Final on PS2, It's this one right here, R-Type that is my all time favorite of the series. Every level is perfectly executed, the 3 new forces add some variety, typical huge bosses... this is, for me, THE R-Type. Pick up the GBA poor conversion at your own risk. This is me with Force Type 3 in part of Level 1, until I died.PS: Out now in The Wii VC in the USA, soon in Europe.

R-Type and Gradius series are much different for me, for example Gradius is a bit slower and have a weapon system, while R-Type doesn't have weapon system, it's faster and has this thing that follows ship (i don't remember what is the name of this thing) so it's much different

Wow, it's fun to even watch! I'll have to track this down. I'd get it on VC, but I'm a stickler for having the physical cartridge, so the search begins!

Although I'm no R-type veteran, and as much as I like Final, I have to agree that 3 is better. The level designs in Final are really boring, and the number of ships doesn't quite make up for it.

I have R-type 3 on Gba most of the game is still the same but the music plain sucks and some of the noises are missing. |
