It's weird. If you look closely there is another girl in a red dress with a guy at the scene where they are at the dance. The girl looks just like Rei(Sailor Mars).

I think Serena forgets she can throw her tiara or use the disguiese pen later on in the series.you never seen her use those super hearing hair accessories later on either. I think the writers forget she has them.
