If "music is music, man", why did the group Wild Cherry write a song titled: "Play that Funky Music, white boy"? If "music is music, man", why is it that everytime a white music artist performs in what is recognized as a "black music genre", what the white artist does is called "blue-eyed soul"?I'll tell you why.Because the cultural differences of race and ethnicity impact on musical expression. "Lowrider" is a Soul Music song, not a t.v. "theme song".

Hank Williams' music is one man's music, man. The Godfather of Soul, James Brown's music is another man's music, man. Luciano Pavarotti's music is still another man's music, man. George Lopez' t.v. show was created in large part to expose chicano culture and humor to a national audience, but chose a black American Soul Music song to represent chicano culture. Lopez chose the wrong music, man.
