How about post a vid of you playing part of this solo. The part im most interested is where he does his single stroke from Slow to fast for a couple minutes and then finishing it with those fast crashes. You dont exclude that part of the solo when you claim you can do a large quantity of it.

wow! amazing. I love it how he hit the boom near the beggining and just looked at it. this solo is classic!

lol do you not know what speed drumming is? Its not all about making beats with a fking 16th note playing over and over again on the crashes while you bang on the snare every beat or something. You are a rookie. Trust me, if you've ever seen what he can really do, and not just on youtube, then you wouldnt be saying this. I'm pretty sure you're just judging buddy on his youtube videos. He has so many more shit to show others, but no people would rather trust youtube to show some skill.s

i said most of the solo, the term most refers to a large quantity of something dumbass...the only part i cant play are some of the roles and the parts where im too slow with one hand and cant compromise with two...i can play most of it but he's so fast that i cant break it down enough to understand what to do in some of the roles...read more carefully bitch

(continued) Notice how Buddy rich, Gene krupa... etc, their elbows hardly ever left their sides!! and they could still get around the kit faster than most modern, matched grip players! No wonder they could play in snazzy tailored suits! ha ha. Fantastic, these guys just had kit set up and technique down to a tee. Cant understand why anyone into music would speak poorly of these legendary pioneers????

Not nesaceraly for rim shots, but it does help, more that it is just more ergonomically correct for one using traditional grip, the stick just natuarally falls at that angle with minimum effort from the drummer, if you play trad grip with a flat or angled up towards your tom(s) snare, this takes more effort, and can even hurt! B.R. and all the old greats had it sussed, everything set up low and in reach, allowing them to play faster without wasting unnessacry enegry.

This is an amazing video! His technique is beyond reachable by any drummer...I truly believe this and any drummer who says anything negative, obviously doesn't understand what he is ACTUALLY doing here. Amazing

Buddy rich is the greatest drummer of all time along with the immortal Gene krupa. They beat the savage out of jazz. And SLINGERLAND DRUMS was Buddies all time favorite.
