Charlie Wilson's War is a 2007 drama film about Democratic Texas Congressman Charlie Wilson, who conspired with a CIA officer named Gust Avrakotos to launch an operation to help the Afghan Mujahideen during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. It is based on a 2003 book of the same title by George Crile. The film stars Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

It scored about 60 Soviet aircraft during this war of 400+ lost.Don't impress much comparing to 6000+ US ones downed over Nam by Soviet SAMs.

actualy attal30 U.S can take alitte credit the stinger proved to be one of the key killers of russians in afganistan lol. also conditions in afganistan are way better then Iraq. then again we had a 2 year start on Afganistan. your talking to the U.S here lol. we win wars. :)
