WOOOOOOOOW. i cant think of a word... Im 20, got turned on to Bruce by my parents, and I think the best thing in life is to listen to an old Bruce song you haven't listened to in while and realize how much you like this artist. The guy sparks feeling in his listeners more than any other performer I know.

luke i do agree that the 1999 version is awesome. i saw that tour and was blown away, but i think this is the best version i have ever heard of this great classic bruce. the solo's by little stevie and the big man clarence are the mot powerful rifs i think ever. if they don't give anyone goose bumps than they probally wouldn't know good music if it bit them in the ass. never the less 99 was classic too, just like every bruce show...

Anyone who hasn't seen Bruce's 1999 version should watch it, definately his best Jungeland performance. Just search "Jungleland Live 1999."

my favourite song in my favourite version during my favourite tour. I bought the boot Live in The Promised Land in 1979, I was 18 years old. And during Jungleland, after six or seven minutes, when the band stops their glorious fury and only Roy remains, after Bruce says "beneath the city.." I have improved what a song can do inside a human being.

When I listened to this song, broadcast live on radio from Capitol Theatre, I was covered with goose bumps and tears. A week or so later, saw Bruce for first time, Boston Garden. Seeing it live, seeing how this song pulls together thousands of people into one swaying singing mass, it's the ultimate spiritual experience. Jump ahead THIRTY years...Just saw Bruce perform this at Hershey PA. As always: goose bumps and tears and the ultimate experience! THanks for three decades, Boss.

The Bigman's solo at 4:10 has to be one of, if not the best instrumental solo of any kind in recorded music history. He's so perfect - it's almost scary, SOoooo much soul, as close to perfection as your likely to see in this life. These days superlatives are thrown around pretty loosely - I hesitate to make such a statement, but he's truly amazing!
