I imagine and I'm not the only one. Common notions of (immutable) human nature serve the status quo. Society learned that sacrifice and slavery are wrong. It can do the same when soldiers are no longer willing to be like the toys that rich kids get for Christmas. There were hundreds of thousands of conscientious objectors in WWII and in WWI only 1/4 fired on the enemy even when fired upon and with their own life at stake. It requires a lot of propaganda to make most people inhumane.

Still tryin to figure out how an as..le like that could have ever been elected in the first place. Something really wrong with the country that I left 30 years ago. Always thought we were on the right track back then after learning about our mistakes in Viet Nam.
