No one sang it better than the Merm - big, brassy and unapologetic...

I'm not that big of a Megan fan in general BUT it was obvious that she was going for comedic effect and timing since this was a tribute to Reba. I thought she nailed it for what it was supposed to be in this setting

she might not have performed the vocals as good as all of the legends who have played this role...but none of them have the comedic timing like her. She wasn't overacting...she was making it funny. That's what she does. She makes everything funny. None of those others could do even a portion of the comedy like her. SHE ROCKS!!!!

I like her on Will and Grace, but I can't see/hear anyone sing this right except Betty Hutton (yes, even Ethel Merman doesn't do it as good as Hutton!)

She's definitely more of a Dolly Tate.

I think she was going for the overly exagerated effect for comedic performance. This was just a number in a tribute show...its not like she was actually performing as the character.

Adore her, but that wasn't very good.

i agree too. she's generally fantastic, but here it's exactly like you said: over acting without rteally ACTING. well, she has such a huge wonderful body of work this really a trifle.

I loooove Megan! She's great! But I dont think she fits this role. Its the accent. Her voice is great though.
