The "iTunnel" or MultiTunnel was conceptualized by XM Labs and MultiSell late 2006 and first commissioned for Hydra Properties at Cityscape Dubai 2006. The idea is to design interactive spaces where the most advanced technologies are used in the simplest and most natural way.The "MultiTunnel" is an interactive passage way utilizing surface computing and other screen technologies to help build an introductionary customer experience as "entry" point. In this case, a Real Estate client launching 3 new skyscrapers/towers in United Arab Emirates wanted something extra in attracting customers into the stand at the Cityscape Dubai Exhibition. Here, the MultiTunnel is seamlessly integrated into the stand design using 2 x MultiFX edgeblended interactive floors creating a 3:8 aspect ratio enabling the client to showcase an interactive tower on the tunnel floor. The sides are covered with large format 360 degree screens that can be viewed from both sides using crossbeaming and motion sensoring along with surround sound effects to immerse and amaze the visitors. In the end of the iTunnel, a holographic 80" screens with "MultiPoint" non-touch gesture recognition module for pointing your way through a virtual walk around the towers. All 3D rendering, video animations and interactive contents as well as stand-design was done by XM Labs and MultiSell.MultiFX, MultiScreens and MultiPoint is all integralparts of MultiSell's family of interactive surfaces called MultiSpace Surface Systems. Complete rooms & spaces can be made interactive with walls, floors table tops, bars and other integral surfaces of a room "talking" to each other - with human and machine interacting naturally and no gadgets in between.
