"Warsaw Concerto" is one of the best examples of a piece of music especially written for a movie ("Dangerous Moonlight") that has gone on to have a life of its own. By the way, in spite of the surface noise, you have to realize that the old 78 rpm records had a tremendous amount of fidelity due to the fast speed of the record. There were some brilliant highes in 78s that could not be equalled in 33-and-a-third records. You should check out other versions of the song here. It's a great work.

I have this on 12" 78rpm by Boston "Pops" Orchestra with Arthur Fiedler, Conductor, featuring Leo Litwin, Pianist. It is on RCA Victor "Red Seal" 11-8863. Song is featured in the motion picture "Suicide Squadron".

Thank You for posting; obviously this concerto is the inspiration for the theme used in the motion picture titled 'Laura'.Valkyrie Ziege Mourne |
