Thats extraordinary considering it was a huge hit when it came out in '75 or '76.

The mansion is actually located in South Australia and is called Martindale Hall.

You're very lucky! I wish I lived near Hanging Rock - one question: how far away is the mansion in this movie?

I live in newham, the town that hanging rock is actually located in. I never knew this movie exhisted! its weird seeing this as it is filmed only 2 minutes walk form my house!

Yes. It is the most magical movie I have ever seen. And every time I see it, it casts its spell over me for days.

Everything about this movie is beautiful. I never get sick of it. it is irreplaceable, irreplaceable to the point that if they ever make a modern day version, I wouldn't dare watch it.

Oh yes now that does make my day. I feel a spring in my step and a pan pipe tune coming on...ok ok so i need to get a life.

Foreign?? Not to us here in Australia. A well known classic. Probably this or Gallipoli would be Peter Weir's best by far. Though the DVD release looks like it has some scenes missing.

Yes indeed, and not a can of Mortein flyspray in sight! "When you're on a good thing...."
