You talk of OSX being based on Unix, It is a hacked up version of FreeBSD, My problem is specific to Reason, and Logic, I don't use CuBase as I don't like the interface. The point is if it works on FreeBSD, it should work on OSX, but since Apple Corrupted it and made it unstable, I cannot use it for its intended purpose. When I speak of FreeBSD I speak of a Virgin Installation of FreeBSD, NetBSD or OpenBSD. The problem occurs with 24bit Audio, it works fine with 16bit or lower audio.

Yes. troll....

Looking pretty is not the issue. I am not talking about objective qualities.I run a small recording studio based on Macs and I have never heard of this socalled problem. Multi-track software, effects, cubase, synths, samplers and VST effects in other applications really never give me trouble.I do not know what you are doing wrong, but don't blame the OS or the hardware.( and what the #*&$ do you mean , EVEN freeBSD does not hang ??? ) Troll ?

It can look really pretty, (I'll admit the mac does this) but once you try to anything professional with audio on it, It hangs, in my experience, Windows doesn't hang, Linux doesn't hang, even FreeBSD Doesn't hang. So what have Apple broken that they don't want to fix? And yes, I changed the Audio Hardware.

Please don't misrepresent things, OSX Mac is the name of the operating system that the mac runs on. It's only a bunch of overpriced hardware anyway.

I know it already, and I do think It is the poorest of the lot. You can not expect simple users to get accustomed to enlightenment, that is similar to putting them in front of vista with extra eye candy turned off.

try enlightenment. It's Really Nice.

But not for everybody. The Bash shell works great for some folks, but I'd be surprised if ol'grandad could find his way around the prompt.Aqua is more able to serve a broader audience then Gnome and KDE are.Gnome/KDE is too little to late.

Gnome "Just Works" for me. and my grandad.
