How slanderous of you.I hate CBC because it never keeps it's original programs for long enough. They always cancel the good ones before the series ends. Why are you people acting out over this? If you like the CBC good for you but don't come at my for having an opposing view.

Really?? "eye raising"??? you are certainly entitled to your opinion but I am of the opinion that those programs you just mentioned are absolute drivel. If you want quality documentaries apparently the Korea Central News Agency has produced some dynamite programs outlining the brilliance of thier "Dear Leader", Kim-Jong il. Perhaps you should avail yourself of their government sponsered brilliance.

I certainly would not defend the amount of money that taxpayers spend on CBC by comparing it to the BBC. I am of the opinion that governmental agencies should not be involved in deciding what its citizens should watch. If people feel that content is meritorious they will watch it and support it with donations (PBS)or by supporting advertisers (everyone else) I suggest that virtually every program on the CBC is crap, but that is my opinion, not others. As a result I should not have to pay for it.

fk CBC now. they ruined HockeyNight in Canada. like. seriously. how in gods name can u get rid of a song that basicly makes cbc worth watching?
kenyam101 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
Why? you lack the IQ to understand eye raising documentaries that only CBC produces? No other mainstream news channel in North America airs documentaries like 5th Estate or the Passionate Eye.... closest thing would be the BBC, but thats across the pond... and they spend 4 times more than we do on CBC
kenyam101 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
A lotta foreigners from Europe like to compare the CBC to the BBC. However, in England, the BBC is subsidized $7 billion US annually, while the CBC is only funded $1.6 billion US.Considering England has twice our population (60 million), if you can do your math, even per capita the British pay a lot more, even after Margaret Thatcher was done with it.So stop whining. CBC is waaay better than Fox *ahem, I mean Global, CTV. France, Germany, and even little Holland spend more money!

I don't want media barons running the press and in a sense running the country!I am of the opinion that the CBC's forum of current events and journalism Is the sole thing worth defending and Maybe.... Hockeynight :).
shootermacgavin1 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
I would suggest that by removing the CBC from the government teat that it would further journalistic freedom in this country. Why is the government (with my tax money) in this business anyway? By the way I would agree with you that a majority of American networks (esp. ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN) are in the business of misinformation for example, Mr. Obama is apparently just this side of a sainted diety. Its disgusting.

Opposed to a corporate puppet media like in the U.S, Where a small group of people control all the press to mold and misinform the public how they wish.

Rex is pretty good, but on the whole the CBC is a money sucking national embarrassment. Time for that organization to have its funding cut to 0.
