He's so American... His next book should be on Public Speaking in cultures out side of North America... And why they don't laugh at his idiot jokes during his talk. Idiot Americans will applaud and laugh at anything. Someone walks onto stage and they clap... and then they laugh when there's nothing to laugh at... like Tom does at the end of his talk 1:05 -- he's such an ego centric idiot... Globalize that Thomas

fuckin' hate this guy. the book was better -- can't stand listening to him speak. rather than let the message be it's own force, he has to use these idiot and annoying voice inflections. i so fuckin hate this guy.

So When a Western loudmouth like Tom Friedman walks up into India Soil and sees these rough looking, brown Indians talking up stuff that he would not know, stuff like "doing my taxes, doing my x-rays" all driven by western technology, he is up for a surprise.

Unlike Rest of Western World including US, UK & China, where real human & technological developments are visible and highlighted by media, India was quietly building up its base of skilled workers including Engineers, Scientists and University Professors over period of time. The only thing different was India was never as forthcoming, like the Chinese to market its product aggressively like McDonald's & Microsoft Do.

The funny thing about this interview comes back to the first page of Friedman's book, "The story about Christopher Columbus".India was isolated from the rest of the world for almost all centuries till late 1996, when one of the more popular Indian Americans, Sabeer Bhatia sold a piece of Internet software called "Hotmail." to Microsoft for $400 Million.
