Knight Rider KITT talking car toy

This is my old KITT toy from the 80s that I had as a kid. I loved this thing... still do. It's in pretty good shape considering how much I played with it, but I'm not sure where my Michael Knight figure is. The best thing is that this car is in scale with 6" action figures... so Buffy, X-Men, Spider-Man, etc. can all hitch a ride inside! Aren't 80s toys great?

No, I'm keeping it :) One of the few really old toys that I have left from my childhood.

Did you ever sell that?

They have videos of people who have added voices to their models. The 1983 version is the only one I know of that actually speaks, maybe the new R/C ones, I'm not sure.

Yeah, they really don't make 'em like they used to. There's a new, more detailed KITT toy (you can see videos of here on YouTube), but as far as I know, it lacks a talking voice.

Boy I wanted one of them so bad when I was about 2-3 years old. God I miss the 80's. It was truly a better time!

i had one of these, i wish i still did but for some reason - i guess maybe it was just in really bad shape from being left in the rain constantly - but my dad convinced me to blow it up with a firecracker... all it did was catch fire and melt, and we threw it away. ever since then i try to avoid wasting anything that has any possibility of being fixed later on. 20+ yrs later I'm into this show again, and i just saw the same car in fair cond'n starting at $50 on ebay

Badass! I had one too, but the voice stopped working only a few years after I got it. Finally canibalized it in my late teens. Too bad... lol

oh man, I rememeber BEGGING my mom/grandmother to buy me that thing in the worst way!! My grandmother finally caved and got it for me at Toys R Us. Ironically, I don't think that after I finally got it I really played with it that much. It's still in my parents house somewhere in a box
