umm check your bios. i have heard of people that have problems with overheats due to low fan speeds, you should check your fan settings. if you cant do anything there, find a forum or some third-party software to figure out how to tweak your fan speeds. trust me, you'll get better performance.

Dude! Are you fucking listening, I don't believe those fucking benchmarks and my 4870 x2 will fry eventually. I had my GTX 280 for a while and it runs stable and cooled overclocked. I have 2 PCs so I don't know what you are bitchin' about. 2 GTX 280s running in SLI develops more power for me without getting ultra hot. The 4870 x2 gets so hot, you couldn't even touch it with a rag covering your hand and the more heat it produces, the more the performance lacks. The GTX 280 only run 55nm.

are you kidding me?!? the gtx 280 has a huge die size, which draws more power. that also translates into more heat. the power draw-to-performance ratio of a gtx 280 is sh!t compared to a 4870X2. another thing is that the 4870X2's have 2 gigs of RAM each. 2 GIGS!!! in case you cant do the math, that equates to 4 GIGS OF GDDR5 RAM!!! by the way, im an nvidia guy. ive got one of those 9800GX2's in this vid. its EVGA's SSC edition. Sweet! hell, id take 2 980GX2's over three gtx 280's.
