here in the philippines those are called " budol" they dont sting because they are mainly composed of water. if you find one of these put it in a cup and display it on sunlight, after 2 hours it will become water.

They all come out when the sun's out, the only way they survived and since there are no predators it was useless to have stinging tentacles.

I know what you're talking about, I got bitten on my ass a few years back by a carrot. It was nasty. It's teeth were just as big as a jellyfish's teeth.
